The Noor Research and Educational Institute (abbreviated as TAVAN in Persian) was established in 1999 as a private institute by a number of university academics in Tehran and with financial support from the private sector. The institute has been involved in many research projects proposed by both the govermental and private industrial sector and has conducted numerous training programs, especially in the pharmaceutical industry.
Our Mission Statement
The Managing Board of the Noor Research and Educational Institute (Tavan) have dedicated themselves to improving the quality of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medicines, cosmetics and food products produced in Iran through all the means at their disposal. The Tavan team is now a reliable partner in research and development to the Iranian food and drug industry and it struggles to help push forward the standard of life of the Iranian people.
The institute has obtained three licenses, one from the Iranian Ministry of Health (MOH) in order to perform quality control activities on food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medicines, cosmetics, and also on occupational medicine, the second from The Ministry of Industry and Mines of Iran to perform research and educational activities related to the pharmaceutical industry, and the third from the Veterinary National Organization of Iran to perform veterinarian drug quality control. At the present, the institute is accredited by MOH for quality control of vitamins and supplements.The institute is also recognized as an accredited laboratory by The Environmental Organization of Iran.
The institute received the following awards :
· -The 14th Razi Research Festival on Medical Sciences award as top NGO for Supporting Research in Medical Sciences (2009)
· -Iran Biotech 2010 award as top NGO for Research and Developement in Biotechnology (2010)
· -Industrials and Mines Ministry award as top NGO for Research and Development in Pharmaceutics (2006)
· -Obtaining a Research Licence from Ministry of Industries and Mines in Quality Control of Pharmaceuticals (2003)
The institute has been assisted by experts (mostly academicians) from different fields in the pharmaceutical, chemical, statistical, computer and engineering sciences.
